With the Osceola Turkey Season opening March 19th here in northern Florida and youth season March 12th, I have been going to our lease every Saturday morning to sit and listen for gobbling and watch/video feed stations to see what kind of turkey activity we are having. So far, I have only seen a couple of jake gobblers and a whole lot of hens (15 to be exact). I have not seen any mature gobblers, but I am sure they are down there. Plus, I have not heard any substantial gobbling.
I looked for the bearded hen I videoed and wrote about last year (Read this blog and/or watch video) but I have not seen her. I did video a new bearded hen while I was down there. We thought that one of the hens last year had a small beard but we could never confirm it and it looks like she has about a 5 or 6 inch beard. Nothing like the one last year. Maybe she will show up. Enjoy this video of the new bearded hen.
