This is the same evening that I shot my bird in the clover when Chuck Campbell connected on his first Kansas bird. He had his decoys setup and it enticed the bird across this huge Kansas field. One more thing to add is to pay attention to how this turkey flops when he shoots him. He put all the shot in his head on this very windy day. Enjoy the video.

Monday, May 7th, 2012I had not planned on traveling to hunt turkeys this year until Chuck twisted my arm and said he needed someone to go back to Kansas with him since he did not kill his birds with a bow. Mike Wheeler, of Wheelers Whitetails, was nice enough to invite him back and let him drag me along. Well, I will be honest. After editing Gabbie’s two turkey kills, it was not hard for me to make up my mind to go.
The first morning, I was hunting in a tent as a bad weather front was moving in. Mike said the gobblers like to cruise this small field that connects two bigger fields together, and boy was he right! Watch this video to see what happens.
Turkey Thumpers: Gabbie’s Georgia Bird – Season 2 – Webisode 10
Monday, April 30th, 2012This is the last in a 3 part series where Ms. Gabbie Campbell has been proving how good a turkey thumpers she is becoming. They returned from Kansas and decided to give Georgia another try. They had a score to settle with these GA gobblers. Chuck roosted a gobbler and they sneaked back in the field at 10:00 pm to put a tent up. Then the next morning, the gobbler came from behind the tent following a hen. Not the best video due to how the hunt unfolded, but still a good hunt and great shot by Gabbie. Watch this webisode to see for yourself.
Turkey Thumpers: Gabbie’s 2nd Kansas Gobbler – Season 2 – Webisode 9
Thursday, April 26th, 2012Now in the last webisode you saw Gabbie Campbell get her first bird. In this hunt, Chuck and Gabbie are still in Kansas trying to get a double, Chuck with his bow and Gabbie with her gun. They had 2 nice gobblers come in. Watch the video to see who connected and who did not. Hint, congratulations Gabbie!
Turkey Thumpers: The Campbells Invade Kansas – Season 2 – Webisode 8
Monday, April 23rd, 2012Chuck and his 12 year old daughter, Gabbie, have been hunting hard in both Florida and Georgia but were coming up short. They then went on a road trip to Kansas for youth weekend and they got her first bird. This gobbler strutted for hours before finally committing to their setup. Watch this video to see how this story unfolds.
Turkey Thumpers: Bill V and the Stuck Up Gobbler – Season 2 – Webisode 7
Monday, April 16th, 2012Now every year I enjoy hunting with my good friend Bill Vincent. I took him 2 years ago to get his first turkey and we have been going ever since. You can watch that hunt here. This year he came up and we had a hard time getting a mature bird in gun range during the first few days. I always joke with him that the years he kills a nice buck, he normally gets a turkey. Last year he did not get a buck, plus the weather was bad during turkey season and the gobblers were all henned up.
Turkey Thumpers: Before the Rain – Season 2 – Webisode 6
Thursday, April 12th, 2012Everyone had gone home from our lease in Georgia but me, and I thought I would try to hunt these gobblers that have been giving us a hard time. We knew where they were traveling before roosting and put a tent there. I was sitting in the tent watching a rain storm coming in on the radar on my cell phone and trying to decide when I needed to get out so not to get wet. Then a neighbor shot a rifle and I heard a turkey gobble. I immediately started calling to him (which turned out to be 3 gobblers). Watch the video to see what happened next.
Turkey Thumpers: Double Me Darn – Season 2 – Webisode 5
Monday, April 9th, 2012Well, this is quite a story. I wanted my father and myself to get a double turkey kill if we had the opportunity. This opportunity did present itself, but due to some miscommunication it went from a control organized 2 hunters 2 shots 2 kills, to instead a reenactment of the shoot out at the OK Corral. Watch this video and see how it unfolds and listen closely to the communication between us.
Turkey Thumpers: The Stare Gobbler – Season 2 – Webisode 4
Thursday, April 5th, 2012Now we hunted a whole week in Mississippi and had no luck. The birds were henned up and we even had a turkey shot out from us on a neighbor’s properties. So when we got to Georgia we had a lot of pent up energy when this gobbler came in. He never got excited at the decoys but instead just stared at our Hazel Creek Jake decoys. I can not say the same for my father. He got excited and rushed his shot, as you can see in this video. He still got enough load into the gobbler were we could get him. Watch this video to see what happens.
